Nischitartham - Traditional Engagement
- Nischitartham is the important event that takes place prior to marriage. In the presence of friends and family, the “purohitulu”/priest writes the “lagna patrika” and reads it out. Mainly the “lagna patrika” contains the names of the bride and groom and their parents and the “sumuhurtam” (the auspicious time) of marriage. “Lagna patrika” is a pre-requisite for printing the “pelli subhalekhalu” or the wedding invitation cards.
